At the 2021 Miami Design Exhibition, the "lightvision" meditation headset designed by Benjamin Hubert of LAYER design is a new normal health product. This headset is specially built for the American startup Resonate, equipped with a matrix of LED lights, allowing users to enter a powerful meditation state regardless of their experience level. Speaking of the new normal, this immersive design is in response to the recent global stressors that have hijacked everyday reality:

'We live in an increasingly busy world, and we are constantly being overwhelmed by digital interactions, the media, and, recently, the effects of the pandemic. In this world, mindfulness and meditation are more important than ever. However, finding time to practice or gaining the knowledge and experience needed for effective practice is not easy. "Resonance Light Vision" allows you to quickly enter a deep meditation state effortlessly," Hubert shared.

Cutting-edge science of nerve entrainment is used to optimize traditional meditation techniques

As a start-up company, Resonate uses the cutting-edge science of nerve entrainment to optimize the meditation experience. Having said that, the team worked with LAYER to combine traditional meditation techniques with the proven benefits of vibration, sound and light into the headset system to change the frequency and pattern of thinking. According to research conducted by the startup, 15 minutes of meditation a day is as effective as medications for depression-users report that after a 20-minute empathy session, stress and anxiety levels are reduced by 51%.

In order to trigger this kind of deep relaxation, the LED light matrix converts the video of the natural world into a constantly changing sequence of biological forms, which can be seen by closing the eyes, and has been proven to activate the frequency-following response of the brain.

The headset is equipped with a matrix of LED lights, which can convert natural videos into biomorphic patterns

In addition, the soft and warm design of the product sets a new standard for meditation. In fact, the calm and minimalist style encourages a serene state of mind and evokes the language of fashion accessories. Its fabric-wrapped shell closely fits the contours of the face, allowing you to be completely immersed in it-metal brand details enhance the adjustable shoulder strap-while the more advanced and futuristic design of the inner shell uses a high-tech LED matrix display. By providing a clear balance between "soft" and "high-tech" accents, users can effectively adapt to this novel experience.

The design also expresses the function of the product. For example, the light strip frames the inner edge of the headset and projects the light onto the user's face to generate a "do not disturb" signal. At the same time, when the LED matrix is turned on, the user can adjust the brightness and volume of the audio track through the intuitive and ergonomic capacitive interface at the bottom of the housing. This interface strip also has a power button and a USB-C charging port.
