Custom Honda Dax 125 Cafe Racer Looks Utterly Bonkers..In A Great Way

Right from its debut in 1969, the Honda Dax (or ST) has always had an immense fanbase, and Thailand’s K-Speed Customs is a part of the fan club. So when Honda resurrected the Dax for 2022, it opened the floodgates to K-Speed’s creativity and as a result, the bikemaker transformed the Dax into a mesmerizing cafe racer. Yes, you heard that right, a cafe racer!

Dubbed the Daxxer (Dax + Racer?), the pocket bike no longer looks anything like the retro and cutesy stock motorcycle. Starting up top, the OEM headlight and USD forks have made way for a bigger all-LED light and custom, lowered forks.

Like the front, the custom Dax also flaunts custom dual springs and LED lights (notice the sly indicators) outback. All this, coupled with the custom extended swingarm, gives the Daxxer a commanding stance, almost like it’ll obliterate the drag strip.

Shifting focus up top, this is where things get extra spicy. Compared to its stock, relaxed ergonomics, the custom Dax amps up its sport quotient by switching to clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, and even a scooped cafe racer-like seat. So the motorcycle doesn’t just look like it’ll go fast, it makes you prepare for it the moment you swing a leg.

Sadly, though, it won’t exactly go very fast, and that’s down to the limited engine tweaks. K-Speed has left the 124cc, single-cylinder engine as it is, for the most part, only equipping it with a custom free-flow exhaust. Accordingly, the Daxxer’s power output would be comparable to the Dax 125’s 9-horsepower.

Finally, the Daxxer dons a bright yellow paint on its entire body replete with ‘Diablo’ graphics and chunky blacked-out wheels. Meanwhile, the digital LCD instrument cluster has moved to the side under the fuel tank. An odd position, but a common thing on K-Speed builds.

No, you can’t. K-Speed had put the Daxxer on sale for 245,000 Thai Baht ( $6,800), and it was, understandably, sold out soon. However, in case you like this, the bikemaker also takes special orders and even ships to the States (at an extra cost). Oh, and you can also check out K-Speed’s wide catalog of a la carte accessories if you want to do things yourself.
