The Edmonton Elks are inducting running back Jim Germany, defensive back Joe Hollimon, and defensive back Ed Jones into the team’s Wall of Honour.

All three players were a part of Edmonton’s dynasty that won five consecutive Grey Cups from 1978 to 1982. They will be inducted during a halftime ceremony during Edmonton’s game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Germany recorded 5,730 career rushing yards over seven seasons in Edmonton (1977-83) and ran for a franchise-record 18 touchdowns in 1981. He also set a single-game record for rushing touchdowns that same year, scoring four in a 41-5 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The native of New York City was twice named a West Division all-star and remains the franchise’s fourth all-time rushing leader. He also caught 172 career passes for 1,642 yards and six touchdowns.

Hollimon played ten seasons with Edmonton (1976-85) and was a major contributor on defence and special teams. He holds three franchise records, including single-game kick returns (eight), single-game kick return yards (239), and interception returns for a touchdown (seven).

The Arkansas native was named a West Division all-star three times and finished his career with 36 career interceptions. He remains third in franchise history in career interception return yards (689) and fifth in career interceptions (36).

Jones played nine seasons with Edmonton (1976-83) and was named a West Division all-star four times. He made 31 career interceptions along with 7.5 sacks and seven fumble recoveries.

The Rutgers product is tied for first all-time in franchise history in single-game interceptions (three) and single-game interceptions returned for touchdown (two). He led the CFL in interceptions in 1980 with ten. Edmonton’s Wall of Honour currently has 38 inductees with Ricky Ray being the most recent addition in 2019.
