At around 8:30 on Monday night, anyone driving on the 69 North Highway near the Lufkin State Supported Living Centre saw a large number of law enforcement vehicles gathering, and some lanes of Highway 69 were closed. It is alleged that someone took a hostage with a gun and eventually led to the suspect being shot.

According to Lufkin City Communications Director Jessica Pebsworth (Jessica Pebsworth), on Monday night, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office chased a car into Angelina County. The suspect pointed a gun at the hostage and ordered They drive.

9-1-1 The dispatcher tried to alleviate the situation by talking to the suspect, and later tried to contact a crisis negotiator at the Lufkin Police Department to persuade the suspect to surrender. The suspect threatened the hostages and stopped all contact.

Lufkin PD patrol personnel were dispatched to the 69 North highway area to communicate the situation and assist in the rescue of the hostages when necessary. At about 8:20 in the evening, the vehicle suddenly stopped on the southbound lane of Highway 69 near Lufkin State Supported Living Centre

The police officer observed that the suspect was still rushing towards the hostage with a pistol and ordered him to put down the gun. After the suspect refused to obey the order, Police Officer Lufkin PD fired on the suspect to rescue the hostages. The suspect was hit in the neck by a rifle bullet and was subsequently taken away from the car.
